Temperance -6th law of Health

Temperance — oh, that word. Understand that practicing temperance doesn’t mean you are simply quitting something. It means consciously living and choosing what strengthens you while letting go of what drains your energy. I shout “balance of all things” constantly; my words and explanations circle this idea relentlessly. Temperance isn’t just about patiently waiting for the results of actions you’ve begun — it requires intentional action and a deliberate mindset. This isn’t restriction either. It’s about coming into balance.

For health, practicing temperance doesn’t look like a rigid list of forbidden items or endless don’ts. It’s the purposeful choice between what nourishes you and what depletes you. I’ll say it plainly: this applies to every part of your life. The places I practice temperance, include what I allow into my inner world — the TV shows I watch, the dramas I engage with in my community, and the influences that touch my soul.I think to myself when someone brings up a problem we have in our community: I ask myself if engaging will have a negative effect on my mind, body, or mood. If it might, I gently say that I prefer not to engage or discuss it. When most people get upset by that, I remind myself their reaction is their responsibility, not mine. Understand that this truth anchors you deeply and creates a firmer, more sovereign ground for you to stand on.

Overindulgence, even in seemingly small things, can unbalance your inner life; when your soul is out of balance, your physical body can weaken, which breeds stress and, over time, illness across the body. Practicing temperance is an active, whole-person commitment to protect, strengthen, and sustain your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I may receive hate for this. However, overindulgence in religion is often the reason many of you suffer from persistent physical afflictions. I’m not telling you to abandon your faith. What I am urging is to create a well-balanced practice that honors both belief and body. You know the guidelines of your tradition, and by now you should be developing and trusting your intuition — that inner sense tied to your soul. If something feels off, allow yourself the curiosity to explore why it does and adjust your approach accordingly. Your journey in this life is yours and yours alone. Only you, by truly becoming one with who you are at the deepest level, will begin to understand all of this on a much larger scale.

Embodying Temperance- Its a continual process to embody balance. However, making choices everyday in what you see and hear and absorb, food, tv, apps, games, outside world. So making intentional choices helps you bring yourself into alignment. Also, making no choice is itself a choice. Opting for indecision simply invites more chaos, keeps you trapped in a draining, negative space of imbalance, and guarantees missed opportunities that could have changed your path. That could mean choosing real, whole foods over heavily processed options could steer you toward a healthier path. Opting for McDonald’s instead of preparing nourishing snacks to keep you energized throughout the day can contribute to weight gain, which then pushes you further into a downward spiral of poor health. You may stop exercising, begin to experience pain as extra weight strains your body, and feel the toll in every sense of the word. It presses on your mind, body, and spirit, dragging you toward destruction. This is why each choice you make, create yourself a little mental note that each choices helps you lead to a better or worse life. It is up to you how you want to live. If you want to enjoy life, Make the choice to stop making easy way out choices and give yourself credit .Remember, we’re already speaking kindly to ourselves and giving that positive reinforcement, so these choices toward balance naturally become easier to make.

Now, simply choosing what seems good doesn’t actually guarantee true balance either. That could lead to over indulgence. So how do you know what is enough? I’m going to freak you out a bit. However, YOUR BODY ALREADY KNOWS!

I use many methods throughout the past several years. I actually just had a conversation about this with my son as well as I have seen an amazing friend on Facebook who is all about intentional wellness talks about this as well. It is called the muscle test, Or I use my jasper Pendulum. Now, using the muscle test and my pendulum and created an awareness inside me that makes it easier for me to know what I need, vs oh i think. I’ve created a bond and a better inner knowing with my awareness to understand my body and what it needs. Do I always know ? Nope. Not always. I still when I feel iffy, I use both methods to help me keep within the temperance in need for me as a whole.

I would love to know your thoughts from what you’ve read above. I would like to start a community where we can talk on all subjects in a healthy manor to help create more dialog!

I want to thank you all who have read my blogs. It means more to me than you know!!!!
