Drinking While Trying To Become Healthy

I have been trying to put into words the important things I’ve discovered about drinking mindfully and the powerful ways it affects your journey to heal your body and become a healthier, happier version of yourself.

As you know, I was raised Mormon for the early part of my life, which shaped much of my upbringing and beliefs. I didn’t start drinking alcohol until I was around 25 years old because I had my children at a young age and simply didn’t have the time, interest, or social environment that encouraged drinking. It wasn’t until I reached around 34 that I finally discovered what kinds of drinks I enjoyed. Even then, my alcohol consumption remained very limited. Later on, my health took a turn when I was diagnosed with C-Diff, which completely prevented me from drinking alcohol. If I tried, I would experience severe reactions like vomiting bile for a solid 10 minutes, which was both frightening and painful. Now, after investing time into improving my health and healing my gut, alcohol still remains completely off the table for me—it’s just not an option given my ongoing recovery and well-being priorities.

Believe me, I wouldn’t love anything more than enjoying that refreshing morning mimosa, or unwinding with an ice-cold beer at the end of a long, exhausting day. And let’s not forget those moments when the day feels especially tough—nothing hits the spot quite like a crisp, well-made Gin and Tonic. However, there are other fantastic options out there if you’re looking to achieve a similar elevated effect without the downsides of alcohol. Kava drinks, for example, are rapidly gaining popularity due to their calming and soothing properties. Magnesium drinks are also rising in the wellness world, with products like Recess becoming my personal favorite. I truly hope the market will soon offer more innovative mocktails that not only provide an elevated, enjoyable experience but are also genuinely good for your body. After all, the quality of what you put in directly influences the wellness you receive in return.

II know that many people struggle to quit drinking alcohol. One thing I most often recommend for any addiction, to help curb those intense cravings, is Kava Kava root. This natural herb has properties that can support relaxation and reduce the urge to drink. You can easily find Kava Kava root at any health food store, usually located in the herbal section.

For those who stay sober, I’m proud of you. Soon, you’ll see how valuable sobriety is. I also hope you enjoy discovering other uplifting drinks, especially ones that help you heal.

Things to Consider

As I sit here, typing and explaining things to you, I want you to understand that everything I recommend involves dedication, hard work, and consistent effort. It’s not just advice thrown around lightly; it’s the result of intentional choices and commitment. Take a moment to reflect on why I created my website, a space dedicated to health and wellness. What motivated me to push through challenges and work tirelessly on improving myself? It’s a story of perseverance, self-discovery, and a passion to help others transform their lives just as I am doing.

I'm not here to brag. I'm sharing what I've learned from my experience. Becoming a better you takes hard work. I was very sick and overweight, living a typical American lifestyle. I struggled with treatments and medications. One day, I asked myself if I even wanted to live or be with my three kids and family. I had problems with my family because of my past mistakes. But by facing and healing my deepest issues, I've gained new perspectives.

Consider that you are actually part of your problem. Reflect on the fact that what we have learned about health is often distorted—shaped by psychological manipulation using half-truths and outright lies. I have lived through this firsthand. I have witnessed it and can tell you from my own experience that this kind of misinformation happens on a daily basis. What truly frustrates me is that some doctors refuse to question or think critically; instead, they merely recite what they've been taught to memorize, blindly following textbooks rather than treating individuals holistically, or even logically. A significant number of medical malpractice cases occur precisely because of this rigid adherence to outdated or incomplete information, rather than real understanding and personalized care.

Consider this. We have been trained from a young age. Unknowingly. Through Tv, through movies, through our Celebrities. I could go deeper into a rabbit hole here. However I won’t. Give your mind a chance to think for itself and not what others think. .You have that ability to decern it. Most people are afraid to use that ability fully. Due to fear.

Consider this carefully. From a very young age, we have been conditioned without even realizing it. Unknowingly, this training comes through the constant exposure to TV, movies, and our beloved celebrities. I could easily dive deeper into this complex rabbit hole of influence, but I won’t overwhelm you right now. Instead, I challenge you to give your mind the rare opportunity to think independently, rather than simply adopting what others believe or expect. You absolutely have the power and ability to discern what resonates with your true self. Yet, most people shy away from using this power to its fullest because of fear—fear of judgment, fear of failure, or fear of stepping outside the norm. Don’t let fear hold you back.

I want you to consider this more than anything else I’ve said today. Truly take a moment to realize that you are exactly what you need to make it through everything life throws at you. You are the coach you need to push forward. You are the support system you need to lean on. You hold within you the knowledge and strength required to overcome any challenge. You, and only you, are exactly what you need in this moment. No one else can truly understand what’s happening physically and mentally inside of you. You possess the unique capability to recognize it all. So, give yourself permission to trust in yourself just a little bit more each day.
