Mindset

Mindset matters. You can do everything right and not see results. It may sound repetitive, but it's true: your perspective creates your reality. Your thoughts and feelings influence everything. Why? Because you build your own reality with the mindset you current have.

The way you think about yourself and the world around you truly IS what makes YOUR World around you. Your perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes shape every experience you encounter. Did that make sense? Good!

With the concept of mindset, I strongly coincide it with the idea of self-talk. Why is this connection so critical? Our mindset is profoundly influenced and ultimately determined by the way we speak to ourselves, or perhaps even by the fact that we speak to ourselves at all. Calling yourself dumb, slow, or anything else that is even remotely negative really puts your energy and head in a very negative space. It’s amazing how such thoughts can conquer a mindset. How does that disheartening narrative make me want to do anything at all? The truth is… it absolutely doesn’t.

The reason for today’s engaging pep talk on Mindset is that I wanted to take the opportunity to discuss the transformative mindset that I began to change and shape, ultimately leading me to where I find myself today. In no way am I claiming to be among the top 10 most successful people in the world, at least not YET. However, my journey has taken me from weighing over 216lbs and being in desperate need of a gastric sleeve, to facing the life-altering diagnosis of the BIG C. Fast forward to today, and I am thriving in life. I weigh 125lbs and I am actively working, raising three incredible boys, and striving to become the healthiest woman I can be, all while adhering to my own personal standards of wellbeing, of course.
